It is what can only probably be described as the briefest appearance by Charlotte Church that has ever been.
Charlotte made a "Guest Appearance" on Channel 4 in the U.K. at 0930 hours G.M.T. on "Pop World" and was interviewed by Presenter, Miquita Oliver.
The interview which lasted about three minutes revealed nothing that we didn't already know: that Charlotte wishes to expand her Musical Horizons with more than just Classical Music, that she enjoys being famous, and that her first taste of fame was singing down a telephone line to Richard and Judy.
Looking more the Pop Babe than ever, her attire consisted of a black cap, sleeveless black top with multicoloured straps (!), black trousers, red high heels, and rather a lot of make-up including thick red lipstick.
The only "fact" I hadn't heard before was that Charlotte revealed that they had used the monika "C.M.C." for the Record as they were unsure how well it would go down if people realized it was her vocals on it. She also stated that she hadn't got used to hearing it on the radio yet - and the Miquita suggested that Charlotte had had the same experience in Night Clubs, when Charlotte (albeit rather coyly) reminded her that she was too young to enter Night Clubs, which are for over 18's in the U.K.
The most disappointing point about this appearance was Charlotte acutally singing - what their was of it - the interviewer said "...here is a recoding of Charlotte performing "Brave New World " which she did earlier...", they then cut to Charlotte with a full dance troupe. She sung the Chorus Line, and it appears that there is now a dance routine for the track - and then it was straight back for the second half of the interview. It couldn't have lasted more than about 20 seconds.
The interview finished with Miquita Oliver saying that Charlotte must come back if she records and Rap Tracks, which she agreed to - and that was it!
It's always nice to see Charlotte - but it would have been nice to see more of her - a bit of a disappointment if you had gone to the trouble of setting your Video Cassette Record up to record it....!
