"THE DAILY DUSTBIN - 2003"
If we see it printed, we'll post it - that's our motto! Seriously though, there are many, many stories printed in the World's Media about Charlotte, we cannot possibly post them all, but we'll do our best to get most of them. Needless to say, whether from a Tabloid, Broadsheet, Magazine Article, or a disclosure from an "insider", there's a large element of sensationlism, inaccuracy, and generally dowright lies with some of these articles, so each time you visit this page, please have your salt on standby...!
Having said that, there is usually at least an element of truth in most of these stories, so to compliment this, we have included our own Editorial within each Section, to give a more "level-headed" view of things - we hope!!!
Music critic Michael White says the 16-year-old diva's voice is struggling to deliver music that should be tackled only by more mature singers.
And leading Welsh opera star Beverley Humphries said yesterday Charlotte must work to improve her voice if she was going to compete with some of the world's top female singers in an adult world.
The multi-millionaire starlet made her name with a pin-sharp voice that sold millions of albums around the world. But she has had a difficult 12 months with widely-reported boyfriend problems and a gruelling US tour.
Now music critics and colleagues in the industry are warning that Charlotte's career is at a turning point and it is not clear whether her voice will make the transition.
Last night a spokeswoman for Charlotte's management said she did not want to comment on the claims.
But Mr White criticised the 16-year-old's voice by saying it does not have "any anchorage, weight or substance."
He told Radio 4's leading arts programme Front Row, "If you compare what she was doing four years ago and now there is a sign of deterioration. She is forcing it.
"When she was very young and doing things in an innocent way, she would bring out a recording like Amazing Grace and there was a certain purity and it was quite charming. You thought it might be quite interesting - now she does not really have any anchorage, weight or substance. It is wavering.
"Mr White discussed the disparity between child stars in the past and now. He said, "There have always been young singers but it was very different in the past."
Singers tended to concentrate on lighter songs, on smaller stages, with smaller orchestras and did not embark on the country-wide tours that Charlotte has committed herself to recently.
Presenter of BBC Wales Showtime and Welsh Opera star, Beverley Humphries said she agreed with much of what Mr White said and that Charlotte was facing a crossroads in her career.
Ms Humphries said that as a child soprano Charlotte was in a league of her own because there was no competition. She said, "People must make up their own minds when they listen to a voice as to whether it is achieving its potential. Personally I would tend to agree with the comments of Mr White."
Ms Humphries believes that Charlotte should now take stock of her situation, find some good advice and work out which path to take.
She said, "She was a little girl when she started, and I guess, without wanting to sound cynical, there was a gap in the market which Church filled admirably.
"When she gets into her twenties, if she still wants to sing the same things, she is going to have to compete in a market place with a plethora of sopranos."
This intense market means her unchallenged position of voice of an angel in the youth market might be harder to sustain.
To stay in the market Ms Humphries believes it is imperative to hone technique. However, if Charlotte's recent comments on Parkinson are true she wants to be a cross between India Arie, Eva Cassidy, Jill Scott and Sting. She might be able to manage in the pop world with less attention paid to technique.
Yet, due to Charlotte's young age and the strain which has been put on her voice, there is a possibility that damage could have been caused.
As a singer herself, Ms Humphries understands the danger of a voice pushed past its limit. She did not sing professionally until her early 20s and warned that the voice is like an athlete's body and has to be trained carefully.
"This is a very exploitative world and I fear that she has been exploited by singing more mature pieces.
"She has brought great pleasure to many people and I would not want anything permanently damaging to happen to her voice. These are very formative years and there is the potential for a great deal of good and exciting things to happen to her."
Ms Humphries said, "Habanera from Carmen is totally off the wall to choose for such a young voice and The Laughing Song from Die Fledermaus is something which needs a much more mature voice. She should be singing lovely, simple songs that are not stretching her voice, especially as she goes through the change into adulthood, when the voice changes."
AFTER her very own annus horribilis, the last thing Charlotte Church needs as a new year dawns is criticism of her voice.
The star's public image has taken a battering after allegations about a boyfriend deemed "unsuitable" by her family, a new smoking habit and a series of onstage gaffes.
Now her voice, which made her so very famous in the first place, has been singled out by critics as losing its allure.
Beverley Humphries, a BBC music critic, rightly says that now is the time for 16-year-old Charlotte to take stock to determine where her career goes from here.
Being a child star - with little competition to speak of - is one thing. But moving on to the world stage as an adult, competing against top sopranos, will be another matter altogether.
Whether her voice is up to the challenge remains to be seen, but a little time spent in quiet reflection now would certainly seem to be in order.
Charlotte is all too well aware of what it means to be in the public eye and knows that there will be intense scrutiny of whatever she chooses to do next.
While she knows - and those who arrange her public life know - that her life is of legitimate public interest, it sometimes helps to remember that this is a singer who only took her GCSEs this year.
A career like Charlotte's needs publicity to keep it going, but she needs to decide whether the inevitable and - generally - justified spotlight on her every move is worth the rewards.
Sometimes she sounds mature beyond her years when she sings and gives interviews, but at other times she doesn't. As she is just 16, perhaps that shouldn't be such a great surprise.
But Charlotte is bright enough to realise that not many child stars make it to adulthood unscathed. She also knows that, despite the fortune she has amassed, she must decide at some point or other whether she wants to continue in the public eye.
As music critics have now pointed out, getting the range and depth needed to be a successful adult classic opera singer requires a voice to develop - and be trained - in a particular way. Charlotte may well turn out to have that talent, but whether she feels the rewards are worth all the work is another matter.
So perhaps the New Year is the best time to take stock on what she wants to do next.
She may consider that having the "normal" life of a 16-year-old - furtive cigarettes, boyfriend and all - is worth living away from the public eye.
On the other hand, she may be determined to take the next steps to continue her singing career straight away. But she needs more than anything is to come to her own decision and pursue it - she is still young enough to do anything she pleases, but mature enough to know what the choices involve.
Let's hope she can come to the right choice without too much outside pressure.
Teen soprano Charlotte Church is locked in a bitter battle regarding where she spend Christmas Day - either with her family or with her "bad boy" boyfriend.
The 16-year-old reportedly wants to spend the Yuletide with DJ Steven Johnson, 18, and his father in Cardiff - whilst her ex-manager mother Maria wants Church at home following her American tour, which she is flying back from.
A friend says, "Charlotte loves being with Steven because she can let her hair down and act like a normal teenager.
"He has been shopping for presents for Charlotte. But it's hardly likely to go down well with her mother who doesn't approve of Steven.
"She will be furious. It's likely to lead to another row. There will probably be a compromise with Charlotte dividing her Christmas Day between both households."
THE VOICE of teenage diva Charlotte Church is showing signs of cracking up, a music critic has warned.
Michael White said the 16-year-old's voice was being strained by tackling songs suited to more mature singers.
He added: "If you compare what she was doing four years ago and now, there is a sign of deterioration."
Welsh opera star Beverley Humphries echoed his warning, saying: "I fear that she has been exploited by singing more mature pieces."
Charlotte's meteoric rise to fame is reputed to have netted her £16million.
But she hit problems in a recent US tour where she was accused of throwing tantrums.
She has also clashed with her family over her partying with rap DJ boyfriend Steven Johnson, 18.
CHARLOTTE Church's singing voice is showing signs of cracking up, a top music critic has warned.
Michael White claimed yesterday the 16-year-old diva's voice was put under strain tackling songs for more mature singers.
He told BBC Radio Four: "If you compare what she was doing four years ago and now, there is a sign of deterioration.
"She is forcing it. Now she does not have any anchorage, weight or substance. It is wavering."
Worth £16million, Charlotte's repertoire includes classical works Pie Jesu and Die Fledermaus.
But fellow opera singer Beverley Humphries said: "She should be singing lovely, simple songs that are not stretching her voice, especially as she changes into adulthood."
The troubled 16-year-old star, who had a turbulent 2002 encompassing very public rows with her family and tantrums on tour in America, has been slammed by Michael White who thinks her voice now does not compare to the purity it had when she was a youngster.
The respected broadcaster and critic says, "If you compare what she was doing four years ago with what she is doing now I think there is a sign of deterioration. She is forcing it far more.
"When she was incredibly young and doing things in a very innocent way, she would bring out a recording like Amazing Grace and there was a certain purity there and it was quite charming.
"You thought it might be interesting - but now she does not really have any anchorage, weight or substance. It is wavering."
White thinks the breakdown in Charlotte's voice stems from the youngster being overworked by her pushy management team.
He continues, "There have always been very young singers doing quite major work, but things were very different in the past. Singers tended to concentrate on lighter songs in smaller theatres with smaller orchestras and did not embark on the countrywide tours that Charlotte has committed herself to.
"Things are very much tougher now. It's very worrying when you see a young voice that's obviously being pushed to the limits, or even beyond its capabilities."
Editor's Note:
From beginning to lose her "Voice Of An Angel" to being a successful so-called "Crossover Artist", who could be on the verge of a U.K. Number One Single? Yeah, that sounds like her voice is deteriorating a lot to do that to me, too...?!
TEEN singing superstar Charlotte Church is destined for her first top 10 hit - and it's a real change from the norm.
Dance track Opera Song (Brave New World), which is released later this month, has already proved a hit with Radio One and Red Dragon FM listeners - even though most people don't know it is her.
For the song, which Charlotte's mother has described as "a one-off", she is using the pseudonym CMC.
The track, which is on the Radio One playlist, is by Jurgen Vries and features Charlotte's vocals.
DJ Gary Neal, who presents the Dance Masters show on Red Dragon, said: "The track has been getting a really good response and a lot of people are requesting it.
"Charlotte is singing in an opera style, but it is a trance track. All the big DJs in the UK are playing it in clubs."
Gary admitted that, at first, he did not realise the voice on the track, which comes out on January 20, was Charlotte's.
"But I had heard a few rumours, and then I saw CMC - which obviously stands for Charlotte Maria Church - on the record," he said.
"Her vocals stand out a mile and it is very good. I wouldn't be surprised if it makes the top.
Charlotte's mother Maria said: "It happened by accident.
"A record label sent her the track, asked her to sing on it and she agreed. But it is just a one-off."
Meanwhile, Charlotte is currently at her family home in north Cardiff enjoying the last of her Christmas break before she starts promoting her forthcoming-10." film - The Family Business-In it, Charlotte plays an Echo delivery girl with her sights set on becoming a singing star.
The film, set in Cardiff, was filmed in London over the summer and is due to be premiered in America in the spring before coming to Britain.
Maria said: "We expect it to be released at the end of March or the beginning of April.
"Charlotte would have liked it to be filmed in Cardiff, but it would have been too expensive because all the crew are based in London.
"She was disappointed, but she understood and we just went with the flow.
"I can't say too much about the film at the moment but from what I have seen it is very good. It is an extremely cute, feel-good film."
Charlotte sings a number of songs in the film - including The Four Tops' hit Reach Out. New trance single proves something different - and a hit with clubbers
SPEAKING as someone who doesn't know dance from trance, Charlotte Church's new song is really good.
It has been played by Radio One DJs including Dave Pearce since November and also on Red Dragon.
But many people may not have realised it was her - because it just sounds so different from her usual numbers.
It is a trance track, apparently, and her vocals go surprisingly well with this style of music. They give it a spine-tingling quality and is easy to see why it has been so popular with clubbers.
It makes you want to go out and have a good time.
Her mum Maria says this is just a one-off, but having listened to The Opera Song (Brave New World), I think she should definitely reconsider.
LAST week I mentioned that if Charlotte Church wasn't careful she'd end up in the same sewer presently occupied by her thug boyfriend Steven Johnson.
Well, after reports of this week's little tantrum Ms Church is on the high-speed express to that same sewer.
The girl once laughingly described as an "angel" unleashed a foul-mouthed tirade at concert organisers in Cincinnati after refusing to meet disabled fans.
"F****," she stormed. "I didn't agree to no meet and greet. Hello..?"
Predictably, when the little madam realised we'd finally seen behind her sugar-sweet smiles and the "I'm only 16" malarkey, and realised what a spoiled little madam she is, she whined: "I'm so mixed up. I'm really confused about who I am."
Well we're not. We see very clearly that Ms Church is perfectly mature when she wants to be and pulls the "I'm just a kid" routine when she doesn't get her own way.
Well, I'm sorry, I don't give a stuff if she's just 16. There's something intrinsically ugly and mean spirited about ANY performer who tells disabled fans to shove off.
Charlotte, 16, turned to the ex-Take That singer after a disastrous start to her US tour and bust-ups with her mum MARIA, 37, and boyfriend STEVEN JOHNSON, 18.
Robbie, 28, who met her on a TV show a few years ago, was happy to play guardian angel. He spent 25 minutes persuading her to carry on and finish the tour.
A pal of Robbie's said: "He was stunned to hear Charlotte sounding so upset.
"Robbie was worried Charlotte was going to do something stupid like run away and forget about her singing career. But thankfully he talked her round."
Since the chat Robbie - famous for his hit Angels - has kept in touch over Christmas with Charlotte by text.
The source added: "Charlotte's mood has improved a lot and much credit must be given to Robbie."

After a traumatic 2002, she must have been hoping for a fresh start in the New Year.
But Charlotte Church was dealt another blow yesterday when it was claimed she is losing her talent.
The 16-year-old singer - who has endured a series of well publicised rows with her mother, a disappointing U.S. tour and an increasingly difficult love life in recent months - was targeted by respected music critic and broadcaster Michael White.
He said during Radio 4's flagship arts show Front Row: 'If you compare what she was doing four years ago with what she is doing now I think there is a sign of deterioration. She is forcing it far more.
'When she was incredibly young and doing things in a very innocent way, she would bring out a recording like Amazing Grace and there was a certain purity there and it was quite charming.
'You thought it might be interesting - but now she does not really have any anchorage, weight or substance. It is wavering.'
Mr White also criticised Miss Church's management team for putting her through gruelling long-haul tours such as her December trip across America and Canada with Sound of Music stars Julie Andrews and Christopher Plummer.
He said: 'There have always been very young singers doing quite major work, but things were very different in the past. Singers tended to concentrate on lighter songs in smaller theatres with smaller orchestras and did not embark on the countrywide-tours that Charlotte has committed herself to.
'Things are very much tougher now. It's very worrying when you see a young voice that's obviously being pushed to the limits, or even beyond its capabilities.'
Miss Church has recently been seen smoking, but claims to have quit the habit after the issue sparked a family row, resulting in her being admonished by her grandmother. Her troubles have also seen her at the centre of a family feud over her romance with ' bit of rough' boyfriend Steven Johnson.
The singer's mother Maria, 37, fears the part-time DJ is leading her astray, with her daughter frequently attending smoky parties with Johnson and his friends.
Miss Church, dubbed The Voice of an Angel after finding fame at just 12, has also been absent from her £500,000 mansion-in the exclusive Coryton area of Cardiff.
She has been opting instead to stay at 18-year-old Johnson's house in the docks area of the city - where she claims she is treated like a 'normal teenager' rather than a multi-millionaire star.
Yesterday's comments by Mr White come after her hugely disappointing U.S. tour in which some venues were only a third full, on one occasion prompting a teenage tantrum from Miss Church.
A spokesman for the singer last night declined to comment on Mr White's claims.

A leading opera boffin reckons he's spotted a deterioration in her dulcet tones.
According to broadcaster Michael White, Charlotte's been forcing her voice to reach notes she's had no problem hitting in the past.
He blames it on her gruelling schedule and lifestyle.
Michael told a Radio 4 programme: "If you compare what she was doing four years ago there is a sign of deterioration. She is forcing it."
No doubt the comments will make our Charlotte feel a tad narked, especially as she's not exactly had a stonking time of it recently.
The 16-year-old has wound up her parents with her choice of boyfriend.
She's also been spotted smoking, which probably hasn't done her voice any favours

Broadcaster and opera critic Michael White claims that Charlotte's singing voice has deteriorated.
He said that she is struggling to reach notes she previously had no problem hitting, a newspaper reports.
The criticism arrives after a tumultuous few months for the 16-year-old.
Gruelling schedule
Charlotte, whose singing talents were discovered at the age of 12, has continually clashed with her parents over her choice of boyfirend.
She has also been spotted smoking.
White claims her gruelling schedule and lifetsyle could be damaging her voice and endangering her career, the Daily Express reports.
Deterioration
"If you compare what she was doing four years ago there is signs of deterioration," White said.
"When she was very young and doing things in an innocent way she'd bring out a recording like Amazing Grace and there was a certain purity, it was charming.
"Now she does not really have any anchorage, weight or substance. It is wavering."

Sixteen-year-old Charlotte Church has taken on a very adult role in recent months, firing – then rehiring – her manager mum in the name of independence and embarking on a rigorous US tour.
But now a music expert says the talented teen is pushing herself too hard – and risking her famous voice in the process.
During the Radio 4 arts programme Front Row, music critic and broadcaster Michael White said the star's vocals, which brought her fame as the "Voice Of An Angel" at the tender age of 12, are on the wane. "If you compare what she was doing four years ago with what she is doing now I think there is a sign of deterioration," he said. "She is forcing it far more."
"When she was incredibly young and doing things in a very innocent way, she would bring out a recording like Amazing Grace and there was a certain purity there… but now she does not really have any anchorage, weight or substance. It is wavering."
White opined that the change in Charlotte's voice could be due to the tough performance schedule she maintains. "(In the past) singers tended to concentrate on lighter songs in smaller theatres with smaller orchestras and did not embark on the country wide tours that Charlotte has committed herself to… It's very worrying when you see a young voice that's obviously being pushed to the limits, or even beyond its capabilities."

The dressed and the worst of 2002
THIS year has been one of kitsch couture in Sex And The City, camp glam in Footballers’ Wives and bossy fashionistas Trinny and Susannah.
We have seen Victoria Beckham’s ever-changing hairstyles and Madonna’s never-changing tracksuits.
There have been fashion disasters including Gwyneth Paltrow’s frock horror at the Oscars and Christina Aguilera’s barely-there tacky outfits.
But some stars displayed timeless chic such as Nicole Kidman and Sarah Jessica Parker, who showed us how to look beautiful with a bump.
Here Sun Woman Fashion Editor ERICA DAVIES presents her awards for the best and worst dressed of 2002.

Cap-ital ... Ms Dynamite wins thiscontest with dowdy Charlotte Church
Ms DYNAMITE THE 21-year-old rap sensation is tops at looking cool in casuals. Whether she’s wearing a white vest and faded jeans or in her latest passion, a boiler suit, Mobo award winner Niomi McLean-Daley always looks modern and stylish.
CHARLOTTE CHURCH WHAT a disaster the 16-year-old singer looked in that velour tracksuit. Unless you are stick-thin, this sporty look is unflattering because it clings to all the wrong curves. We love you, Charlotte, ... but steer clear.

WELSH singing sensation Charlotte Church has been a bit of a grinch herself all year as she rebelled against her wholesome image.
But the 16-year-old looked back at her angelic best in time for Christmas as she met the original bad-tempered children's icon. The singer looked fresh-faced and glowing as she snuggled up to the Grinch , created by Dr Seuss and played by Jim Carrey in the recent film version.
It was part of a festive frolic with family at the Universal Islands of Adventure theme park in Florida.
The holiday snaps are a clear contrast to pictures this year showing the former child star looking grungy and puffing on cigarettes.
She also fell in love with a boy her mum did not approve of and had been rumoured to be going off the rails.
Now it looks like she's outgrown that image too.

TROUBLED Charlotte Church came home from her US tour yesterday and dashed to see her bad-boy lover.
Charlotte, 16, spent just 20 minutes with her parents before racing across Cardiff to see rap DJ Steven Johnson, 18.
The singer, in a leather jacket and baseball cap, spent hours holed up with her boyfriend in a move certain to upset her disapproving mum.
Pitchy keen ... Charlotte rushes into Johnson's
A pal said: “Charlotte was desperate to see him. She’s talked about little else for the past three weeks.
“She said a quick hello to her mum and dad, dropped off her luggage and went straight to Steven’s. They had lots of catching up to do.”
The millionaire tried to see him at a secret location so mum Maria, 37, would not know she was with him.
Her limo circled his address in a rundown area several times before he insisted on seeing her there.
The friend said: “She gave in because all she wanted to do was see him, no matter what her parents thought.”
Charlotte at first refused to fly to the US because Johnson would not promise to stay faithful.
She went after a heart-to-heart with him.
The besotted star faces another clash with her mum and stepdad James, 38, who want her to spend Christmas at their £½ million home.
But her rat boyfriend — who she forgave after he tried to sell their secrets for £100,000 — has asked her to his humble home.
Charlotte’s 15-date tour was hit by poor ticket sales.
She threw a tantrum when asked to meet fans, and told a Canadian audience how much she loved being in the US.

ONE True Voice star Jamie Shaw wants to date Charlotte Church - but is terrified of being beaten up by her `bit of rough' Steven Johnson.
Jamie last week denied he and Charlotte were seeing each other after they were spotted holding hands.
And Charlotte said the rumours were going to `bug' her boyfriend she's been going out with for a year.
But now Jamie, who was at 192's Big Break pop act final on Sunday, has opened his heart and admitted he fancies Charlotte.
He said: "I hope it goes further than just friends, but we'll have to see. She loves her boyfriend to bits but I'd like to go out with her.
"We've been friends for some time, as we grew up about 10 miles apart in Wales. Maybe now I'm famous, it will be more tempting. But Steven is hard, so I'll have to watch that I don't get beaten up."
The pair rekindled their friendship at a pal's birthday bash - where Jamie, 17, also met Charlotte's controversial "bad boy" boyfriend Steven Johnson, 18.
Jamie - who shot to fame on TV show Popstars: The Rivals - has since been seen holding hands with Charlotte in swanky London nightspots.
But Charlotte's mum insists part-time rap DJ Johnson has nothing to worry about.
Maria, 37, said "There's no romance between Charlotte and Jamie. She is going steady with Steven and there would have been no kissing or cuddling with Jamie.
"They've known each other by sight for years and they became friendly after bumping into each other recently. They regularly text each other, but that's it.
"Charlotte has been moving in the same circles as Jamie - doing TV shows to promote her new single."
Jamie's mum Cheryl, 47, confirmed the friendship between the two young singers.
She said: "Jamie really likes Charlotte and thinks she's brilliant. She can give him advice about fame and the music world, as she's been there and done all that."
However, it wouldn't be the first time Jamie had moved in on a girl who is already dating someone else.
The baby-faced singer, who spent most weeks crying during the results stage of Popstars: The Rivals, was pictured at an after-show premiere party snogging a blonde.
He said: "She was called Lisa. She's a model and was really gorgeous. But she had a boyfriend. He was really mad."
If Jamie is trying to create some rock star credentials and get rid of One True Voice's squeaky-clean image, he'd better watch out.
Take his big pal Cheryl Tweedy, who was locked up overnight in a police cell after allegedly being involved in a nightclub punch-up at a Guildford nightclub.
Jamie revealed: "She won't go out anymore. She's very shaken by it.
"I can't believe the claims that Cheryl made racist comments. She's not that sort of person. She's got loads of black friends and has a very big heart. All the guys in the band love her, too.
"But it shows we have to have someone with us at all times to look after us."

YESTERDAY'S Mirror report on the mother who tricked her troublesome 15-year-old daughter into a teenage boot camp in Mexico must have got a few parents thinking. Taxi to Mexico City for Miss Charlotte Church, please...
26th January, 2003 - The Sunday People.
The tryst was part of a bid by the millionaire diva to groom bad boy rap DJ Steven Johnson for the high life she takes for granted.
Charlotte, 17 next month, took him to a celebrity bash - then whisked him to a romantic Indian-themed room with a king-size bed covered by crimson silk sheets.
The lovers hung a Do Not Disturb sign on the door of the £95-a-night room and did not surface for almost 12 hours. One hotel worker said: "Charlotte looked very happy when they checked out."
A friend of the couple said: "Charlotte is trying to introduce Steve to luxury hotels, good food and social occasions.
"She hopes he will get a taste for the lifestyle and become more accepted. It shows how determined she is to resist attempts to prise them apart."
Charlotte wore a clinging black evening gown for the party at Court Colman Manor, a favourite hideaway for stars at Bridgend, South Wales.
She chatted happily to guests, including old pal Jamie Shaw from Popstars: The Rivals. But her 18-year-old boyfriend from Cardiff's tough docklands looked less comfortable in his street gear of jeans and Ali G-style cap.
The pal said: "Steve was quiet and kept in the background. He still feels happier mixing with his old crew."
But Johnson, who has no full-time job, DID have a friendly talk with Jamie - killing rumours of a romance between Charlotte and her fellow singer.
Charlotte's eight-month relationship has angered her mother Maria. The star - tipped to have her first pop hit with The Opera Song - has quit her family's £500,000 Cardiff home to virtually live with Johnson.
"She
is totally smitten," said the friend. "She desperately hopes Steve
can adapt to her lifestyle."

London nightclub owner Peter Stringfellow is doing his best to keep Charlotte Church on the straight and narrow.
Amazingly he refused to book the rebellious teenage singer a table for seven at his lap-dancing club, Stringfellows.
"She wanted to have dinner after going to G.A.Y on Saturday night," Stringy informs us.
"But rules are rules and Charlotte is under 18, so I can't let her in.
"Two of her guests were Jamie Shaw and Matt Johnson from One True Voice - and they are both under 18 as well.
"The cheeky girl even asked if they could sneak in a back door.
"I would have loved to have them all in - they have lots of talent - but, until they're old enough, my hands are tied."
So, for the time being at least, the angel-voiced naughty girl had better stick to restaurants with no age limits.
We've heard that McDonald's is very nice.

A WELSH charity has hit out at a men's magazine's comment that its patrons are "rich bitches".
Actress Catherine Zeta Jones and singer Charlotte Church, patrons of the Noah's Ark Appeal, were awarded the first two positions in Maxim magazine Top Ten Female Earners list, entitled Rich Bitches.
The Rich Bitch list marks the women on their annual earnings and grades them on their looks versus their money.
The Noah's Ark Appeal for a children's hospital for Wales said last night that Zeta Jones and Church had been nothing but charming and delightful with the charity.
The chairwoman of the appeal trustees, Lyn Jones, said it was good for the charity that its people were so renowned.
"They have been perfectly lovely whenever we work with them," she said.
"Charlotte could not have done enough for the appeal and Catherine always helps when she can."
Catherine Zeta Jones, who is expecting her second child with husband Michael Douglas, is worth an estimated £20m and last year her earning soared by £12.5m, including a £5m contract with cosmetics giant Elizabeth Arden.
Charlotte Church, whose single The Opera Song entered the charts yesterday, is worth about £15m and earned £6.5m in 2001 alone, although the 16-year-old has an allowance of only £80 a month.

Charlotte Church is to become the youngest person ever to address the Oxford Union.
The singer recently announced she is to take a break from showbusiness after a gruelling US tour.
She is expected to talk about her encounters with some of the world's most powerful figures, including Bill Clinton and Nelson Mandela, at the union next month.
Charlotte recently appeared on Have I Got News For You.
A spokesman for the Oxford Union told the Daily Express: "Charlotte has been pencilled in to appear next month.
"She is very brave. She's younger than me and I wouldn't want to address the Union but we try to get a wide a range of speakers as possible.
"She has experienced a lot for her age and will have much to say."

THE parents of teen star Charlotte Church yesterday denied she snubbed her mum's birthday party. Her mother Maria Church celebrated her 38th birthday last week and friends said she was upset that Charlotte failed to turn up - and didn't even send a card or present.
But Charlotte's angry stepdad James said, "It's simply not true. I've no idea where this has come but it is not right."
Charlotte was in London with her rap DJ boyfriend Steven Johnson on the night of Maria's birthday.
But her record company said she had several engagements promoting her first pop single The Opera Song, currently riding high in the charts.
Maria and Charlotte fell out last year after the soprano started a relationship with Johnson, 18.
Maria thinks the aspiring DJ from the Butetown area of Cardiff is not good enough for her daughter.
There was a family row when Charlotte spent most of Christmas at Johnson's parents £50,000 home rather than with her parents at the £700,000 mansion bought from the proceeds of her singing career.
But friends say Maria was "very hurt" when Charlotte refused to come home for her mum's birthday.
One said, "After all the arguments, Maria had hoped they could finally put everything behind them.
"She was distraught that Charlotte didn't even send a card or ring to wish her happy birthday."

CHARLOTTE Church has joined the ranks of Kermit the Frog, Michael Jackson, Diego Maradona and David Trimble in being invited to address the Oxford Union.
Media confusion broke out yesterday when the union said Charlotte accepted the invitation and would speak in the world's most famous debating society.
But her spokeswoman denied this, saying there had been a misunderstanding.
She said, "It was put to Charlotte some months ago and it was printed in their agenda as a misprint. We're putting it off but there is the possibility she might well do, depending on what she wants to talk about."
Charlotte - whose string of A-level grades in her GCSEs and exceptional success in extracurricular activities suggests she could be a prime candidate to be an Oxford student herself in the future - has not yet decided where she wants to go to university.
Her spokeswoman confirmed that she is considering pursuing a degree in the United States where there is a well-established tradition of celebrities with high academic abilities enjoying four years of relative privacy at the nation's best universities.
But if Charlotte decides to attend the Oxford Union, she can be assured that her every word will be reported around the world.

DESPITE her mother's efforts to curb her daughter's wild ways, Charlotte Church has no intention of calming down.
But an incident at a London nightclub on Saturday when she was offered drugs by a stranger has left the singer "horrified".
HORRIFIED: Church
The Voice Of An Angel star, who has moved out of the family home to live with DJ lover Steven Johnson, hit two nightspots on Saturday night, even though she is only 16.
Yet the teen opera singer didn't let a little thing like being underage get in the way when she dragged her boyfriend to see Christina Aguilera perform at G.A.Y at The Astoria.
But before Ms Aguilera took to the stage, Charlotte was left shocked after being offered ecstasy by a man. She went bright red and mumbled: "No thanks," before scurrying off to Steven's side.
"She didn't know if the man meant it as a joke or was really selling it. But she wasn't interested at all," says an onlooker. "She looked pretty upset and was even denying she was Charlotte Church. But there really was no mistaking her."
After she ran off, the alleged pusher claimed: "I've not really got any drugs. I was just doing it for a laugh to see what she would say."
Steven, 18, had his back firmly wedged against the wall throughout the night, and looked taken aback as the regulars camped it up and chatted with Charlotte.
She told 3am: "It's brilliant here. I love Christina Aguilera. She has the most amazing voice and is one of my favourite singers. We're just having a nice night and we'll be going straight back to the hotel afterwards."
Earlier on, Charlotte, who is 17 next week, took Steve to the launch party for a mobile phone at Old Billingsgate Market in London where idol Christina was also performing.
The young lovers spent the evening snogging in front of other guests including, Dame Shirley Bassey, Jay Kay and Jerry Hall.
"They couldn't keep their hands off each other and didn't seem to care that everyone was staring at them," says an onlooker. "It was quite a display."
Charlotte's mum, Maria, is distraught at her daughter's relationship with Steven and they have come to blows because headstrong Charlotte refuses to dump him.
And Mum surely won't approve of this latest episode, either.

The 16-year-old Welsh wonder has made it up with her 18-year-old “bit of rough” after their bust up last year. They were clearly in harmony again at a top London nightspot.

Teenage singing star Charlotte Church appeared to put all her relationship troubles aside as she stepped out with DJ boyfriend Steven Johnson.
The pair were seen cuddling and very much together last night as they watched Julien Macdonald’s autumn/winter 2003 catwalk show during London Fashion Week.
Both turned up at the Round House in Camden Town, north London, dressed in black, with Church wearing a strappy top and black peaked cap.
Last month, the 16-year-old singer – better known for her operatic prowess - stormed the pop charts with dance track The Opera Song (Brave New World).
Performing under her initials CMC, she featured on the track in collaboration with Jurgen Vries and saw the song reach number three in the charts.
Church was recently in the news over her high profile fall-out with her mother Maria who is believed to disapprove of her daughter’s choice of boyfriend.
The singer delayed a trip to Cincinnati, Ohio, for a United States tour last December amid reports she had had a bust-up with Johnson, but last night the Voice of an Angel looked more than happy.

Teenage opera singer Charlotte Church has said that she might give Kylie Minogue a run for her money, itv.com has reported.
Church, who took the world by storm a few years ago with her angelic voice, has grown tired of classical music and wants to pursue a career in pop music.
She has already recorded one pop single, ‘The Opera Song’, under the name CMC, and says that she wants to continue under that name.
itv quoted the 16-year-old as saying: “Kylie has one of the bodies and I wouldn't mind being like her. She's one of my favourites. I'm a wiggler when I dance too. I could put on my little hotpants. I like my bum. It's not flat and it's not fat. I'm curvy and wholesome."
Church is the current holder of the ‘Rear of the Year’ title, and, according to the website, might do a photo shoot in her underwear when she turns 18.
“I've been asked to do a number of spreads for magazines and when I'm 18 I might decide I feel a bit sassy," she reportedly said.

Charlotte, 16, has already had a top three single under the name CMC with the dance tune The Opera Song.
She now wants to continue with that name and challenge Kylie.
"Kylie has one of the bodies and I wouldn't mind being like her. She's one of my favourites", said the Welsh singer.
"I'm a wiggler when I dance too. I could put on my little hotpants. I like my bum. It's not flat and it's not fat. I'm curvy and wholesome."
The current Rear of the Year title holder is also considering offers to pose in her underwear when she is 18.
"I've been asked to do a number of spreads for magazines and when I'm 18 I might decide I feel a bit sassy."

The long-awaited rebirth of real music has arrived – Girls Aloud have been forced to cancel their tour due to poor ticket sales.
If music really is the food of love, we’ve all been celibates on a starvation diet of late.
Girly Gareth Gates, Widemouth Will Young and the rest of the end-of-the-pier rabble propagated by the likes of Louis Walsh and Co have been routinely bland.
But things are changing, with the surge in popularity of bands like Doves, Zwan, The Datsuns, Badly Drawn Boy…even credible R’nB acts likes the Sugababes, Kelly Rowland, Beverly Knight…the list goes on.
But, importantly, Popstars: The Rivals’ national tour has been scrapped as the young and fickle finally draw the line.
And it’s the Poulton-le-Fylde Hairdressers’ Hen Party, aka Girls Aloud, and asinine boy band, One True Voice, who are suffering.
Those of you who enter pub quizzes would do well to remember such names as Nadine Coyle, Cheryl Tweedy, Jamie Shaw and Matthew Johnson. The rest of you can purge their names from your already cluttered minds.
But their absence leaves a gap, and it’s a space the ample posterior of Charlotte Church is looking to fill.
Speaking in the Express, Charlotte says how she wants to be the new Kylie Minogue.
“Kylie has one of THE bodies and I wouldn’t mind being like that,” says the 16-year-old Rear of the Year.
Charlotte, of course, has the voice of an angel, but in the charts, a pert backside is what separates the wheat from the chaff. And it’s a fact the warbling Welsh girl’s only too aware of.
“I like my bum,” she raps. ”It’s not flat and it’s not fat. I’m curvy and wholesome and happy with that.”
