The End Of The New Image Of....

Miss CHARLOTTE CHURCH Beta Test

Website or Is It?

So, the The Beta Test is over - Is the Site a success and going to stay after the February 24th deadline or not?

We speak to the Creator and Founder of The New Image Of Charlotte Church and find out...

Well, first of all, are you any more pleased with it since the last time we spoke?

In a word, no, not really! It has been a lot of fun though!

Oh, okay. So what went wrong then?

Frankly, as I said before I feel that it is very amateurish - in fact I know it is as I have done most of the build, and I am by no means a Professional Web Designer - this clearly has not helped with its overall popularity.

What's been the response to the Site, in terms of offers of help, etc.?

This is one of the major factors that has helped make the decision, there has been very little feedback at all, which I find very disappointing, especially with our funky new Message Board, which further proves a lack of demand.

What do you think that is down to, the Site or people not liking her New Image?

Quite possibly both. There have been quite a few factors to her "New Image" which may have put people off of Charlotte completely. Having said that a few thought that her New Image would have progressed far more by now than it has.

So, the Site is definitely due for closure by 24th February, 2003 then? How about her new film being released?

Basically yes. One or two have commented that it is a bad date for closure, being her 17th Birthday, so we may let it run for a little longer, to cover her new film "I'll Be There", however, the U.S. Site may take care of that, so basically yes, it will be February 24th, I think.

So, it's the lack of response coupled with the New Image not being as radical as you thought which has shaped this decision?

Well, I think the Site has been doomed for a while. Charlotte herself has recently been quoted on several occasions saying that she is going to promote "I'll Be There", and then she will be taking a long break - to study and spend time with her current boyfriend. So even if the Site were to continue, there would be very little if anything to add to it. There is also the possibility that Charlotte won't return to Showbusiness at all. Who knows?

So, what will actually happen with this and the U.S. Site? And when is the exact date of closure?

O.K. It runs something like this. The last major update of the Site will be on Charlotte's Birthday. We will stay around until 2nd April, 2004 to catch any possible U.K. news about the film, then that will be it. It will probably be left as some form of "tribute to the New Image of Charlotte Church 2001-2003", the U.S. Site Founders have made this statement:

"Due to circumstances beyond our control, we are uncertain about the future of the US incarnation of this site. Until these issues are resolved to our satisfaction there will be no further updates provided there. We ask for your continued patience, and are doing our utmost to get this resolved as soon as possible." .

Can I ask how your decision will affect the Geocities Site and Yahoo! Group?

Yes, you may! Frankly, it probably won't make much difference. The allocated space has ran out on Geocities, so it needs to be tidied up and then will just be left there, the Group will just run and run probably, I will remain as Administrator, though I will appoint a new Moderator to manage it on a day-to-day basis as we are the third biggest Group.

Well, thanks for your time and effort. For the record there are a few people who really do like the Site and appreciate the effort you have put in. What are you going to do now?

Well, have a rest for a start! There are a number of other Projects I wish to be involved in, and will be pleased to assist the U.S. Site Webmasters if they need it. I am involved in some Charity work too, which I hope I may get busier with, so I would have less time for the Site anyway.

I've enjoyed it, and I hope everyone else has too! Cheers.
